i thought about drop control arms too, i would love to get spindles, but i cant afford them. my dad got spindles on his ram and he loves em. but driving both our trucks there's no difference in handling between springs and spindles. as for my springs i just adjusted my upper control arms and it doesnt camber much if at all.. its been like 5 months and my tires arnt even beginning to feather. if its just a 2'' drop up front then i think springs will do just fine cuz you can compensate with an alignment. anything more and you will have camber because an allignment cant compinsate.
i used Nitro 2 drop shocks with the factory shock mounts.

The DJM flip kit looks much stronger than the Mcgaughy flip kit. Either way I would still spot weld the spring perch. You could also use spring perches from a trailer supply store, mount everything in place and again spot weld the perches and it should be strong. I'd remove the O/L spring and install CalTracs to keep everything in alignment to keep from breaking drive shafts and avoid excessive spring wrap.

Jay I bought EIBACH 4 in drop leafs for the back and 2in drop springs in the front so everything stayed pretty much stock and I used the factory shocks for a while until I could afford the drop shocks.
