I would remove the caliper you don't have to disconnect the line set it on a 5 gallon bucket and do your prep the just cover the entire suspension with a sheet when you paint thats how i have done every one for us seems to work out better for me but the other sugestions will work just as well.

daniel word of advise as i just did mine, a plastic grocery bag will cover the whole rotor, put it on as if your baggin it as a grocery, just go towards the rotor, use the handles and tie it or tape it behind the caliper, the area of the bag between the handles, will hug the caliper, i even got mine under the pad....now for the real good advise, cover everything, even your fender wells i know it sounds funny, but i gotta clean the crap outta mine now....

Like Paul said I did his and ALL of mine by using a Tshirt... just pull it tight and it'll pop right in between the axle and the rotor. Then I took a small bladed screw driver and poked in around all the areas on the rotors; and I think they came out great without having to remove the rotor at all!
I used my air compressor to blow and dust or brake dust, then used brake cleaner and again used the air compressor to dry them well. Waited a little while to insure they were dry, wrapped 'em up with the old Tshirt material and walla ~ DONE.... of course then painted!!!

The fun part here is that my Jack is not big enough to lift the entire front end off the ground so I have to lift each control arm seperately and put a jackstand under it, so I did the fronts one at a time, it is starting to cloud up so I am gonna stop and do the rear tomorrow hopefully, but I have my cousins coming over today and staying through friday so I may not get a chance to got at the rear until early next week.
