Storytime: My wife is from the Philippines and many years ago when we first moved out into the sticks, people would look at her and ask her the oddest of things. But it was their way of asking where she was from. Anyway I was talking to this old woman who’s main adventure was to come across the creek bottom and get married. I think the actual meaning meant more than what was actually said. But anyway, she looks at me and says your woman ain’t from around here is she? I replied No, she’s from the Philippines. The old woman spit on the ground, looked at me and said “yep I thought she was from one of them big cities”

Greg - that'll put lead in your pencil...you really do know what that means don't you? and that's a funny story. That woman that said that must have been living in the sticks way too long.
And here's a new one that applies to someone that isn't too bright (that's smart for your northeners LOL)....she couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the directions were written on the bottom of the heel

lee. it was a very long time ago, before ball point pens were invented and I never gave it a thought that the lead would ever come out of my pencil.
