Well, I just want to thank everyone for their input. I went ahead and followed Okla's advice and made a little compromise. Instead of using krylon fusion gloss black to paint the lower air dam, I went down to Advance and got some of this stuff from Duplicolor called Bumper Coating, which I didn't even know existed, I assume it is the same stuff as Fusion just flat instead of gloss.
I think it came out fairly good, it has the same clean look without the air dam, but at the same time, the air dam is still there to serve its purpose.
