Ehh it was just a rant that I decided didn't fit the thread so I changed it to going to the dealership about my mom's check engine light

Well my mom's car needs an egr valve so they ordered the parts and it should be here tuesday and it's gonna be about a $300 job. Ordered the R/T badge for my truck which was about $86. I was reading a little maintenance schedule and it said that 30,000 mile service for hemis was almost $800. Hopefully mine won't be that much since the only things similar between it and what my owners manual says is oil change, tire rotation, spark plugs, and air filter. Says nothing about transmission flush, power steering flush, fuel injection flush, differential service, or the brake flush like the dealer maintenance pamphlet says

I do all my maintenance myself. Only take it to the the dealer for warranty work. I work at a dealership and I know how much some techs and some service advisers rape the customers.

My dealership is pretty good to me and my mom cause they know my aunt who used to work there so the service managers will look for coupons to lower the cost while our cars are getting worked on. Now on the other hand there's a dealer about 30 miles the other way from our house and my mom went there for an inspection and ended up with an over $800 repair bill; never going there again

That's cool, usually dealers are good to their own people. But you guys would be shocked at some of the quotes we give to customers that just come in for an oil change and rotate. Especially if its an older Grand Cherokee, our techs love those Jeeps lol To top it all of depending on the tech alot of that repair will be a smoke job ie they wont actually do it or do it half arsed like instead of replacing it just clean it and be done.

Got my mom's egr valve fixed and got my R/T badge put on my truck. Only thing is I broke one of the clips on the badge so I hope the other 2 clips hold it on
