Which size sub?
12" alpine 1243D or 10" alpine 1043D...they are both rated for the same power but do you think there will still be a big sound difference between a smaller or bigger sub?

I have always like 10's but I do mean 10's as in a set. But you are going with alpine so I don't think you would be disappointed either way. Does the 12 require more air space and a deeper mounting depth, sorry I'm not on a computer to compare. Make sure you can accommodate a 12 in your rc w/o sacrificing sound quality. Then you have to decide ported or sealed, seiesr or parralel..

i'm positive im going to go with the 12 now. the 10 and 12 are rated for the same amount of power, but the 12 will move more air of course - so the 12 it is. I can get 500 watts to either with the amp I'm getting. I'm going with a sealed box since i heard thats going to be best inside a rc truck. i also believe the mounting depths are the same. my cousin and i have been talking about this for the past month and we pretty much have the major things figured out...install will be in mid may. I'm getting the sound system, an alarm system (keyless entry, remote start included) and it coems with a 2 way pager w/ 1 mile range, and also a new exhaust set-up

10's are faster and tighter punch. 12's can be sloppy, but have tremendous depth in the range.
10's for rock/country/etc
12's for hip hop/rap/etc

Now when I do my system upgrade I won't have to ask these questions. Based on this, it'll be 10's for me!
