Default Update on "Ram It"
Well my buddy and I got the new motor on the stand, got the old motor on the stand and started tearing it down and cleaning and painting....

Here are some pics.

Old motor:


Took the VC's off:


Off with the front plate:


Crank sensor COVERED in metal shavings...


Hole in the oil pan gasket plate:


A second hole in the same plate:


YUMMMMY!!!!


Piece of one of the connecting arms:

Ended up cracking the block:



KEEPSAKES!!!!


Ding inside the oil pan:

This is my buddies 4.7l out of his Dak. Same exact motor as mine so this is EXACTLY how mine is going to look when we are

no pics? shame on you. i guess when i do my motor swap for a crate 5.9 ill have to make up for your lack of pictures. i might even do a DIY on it.... *ponders a bit*

i think im gonna keep the rotating assy the same, but i might swap a mild street/strip cam in, and HS 1.7RRs maybe some 24# injectors as well.

if it has the stock kegger, ill swap in either the M1, or hughes intake.

I went with the same 4.7....otherwise i would have had to change out wiring harnesses and motor mounts and tranny mounts and would have had to have redone my exhaust and it wasnt worth the hassle...

the 4.7 is a helluva torquey motor anyway...
